To polyurethane:The reason why we use poliurithan is becuase it is a clear hard liquid that drys fast that pretects your wood and beatify's.
First you sand your peice of wood with a rough grit sand paper, then a medium, then a fine paper.
Once your done sanding make sure you remove all of the dust with a cloth. Before you use the ply, put down some papaer to protect your work area. You will also need paint thinner, brushes, and your polyurethane.
You shouldnt shake or stir the polyurethane! Once you have all your things set up you can get to work. Dip your brush into the polyurethane.
Dont allow there to be any drips on your wood, but still use a thick layer of polyurethane so that the you cover all of the surface of the woodwork. After thats dryed sand it with your fine peice of sand paper, remove the dust, and add another coat.
You will be done working when it has dryed smooth, no drips, and all the sides have been covered.
To clean up dip your brushes into the paint thinner, and if your got any polyurethane on your hands, whip your hand with paint thinner, then wash with soap and water. Also throw away your paper you layed down.

Drill a hole in the dowal. This because you need to have a predrilled hole for the nail. You want to use a brass nail, not a steal nail. This is because the steal has iron in it creating a pull to the magnets. Therfore creating more friction which will slow the motal down.
